My passion for helping others explore different ways to pray came form my own experience.  I always had difficulty following the ACTS prayer or spending time quietly sitting in my chair praying.  I quickly found myself either checking items off the list out of duty or thinking about everything but God!  I wanted to pray, but I just couldn't focus, and I rarely, if ever, took time to listen for God to speak to me.

As I began discovering these prayer practices, a whole new world opened up to me.  Long wandering prayer gave me permission to let my mind wander as I spent time walking through nature with the intent of spending time with God.  Journaling and other creative prayer practices allowed me to do something meaningful with my hands as I prayed.  The natural silence and solitude of many of the practices allowed me to stop talking and listen for God, while the group practices gave me an outlet for sharing experiences and ideas.  I was given permission to rest and relax, and many of the practices were available to me at any point during the day in the midst of normal daily activities.  I found myself actually communicating -speaking AND listening - with God more often.  Eventually I found Paul's charge to pray without ceasing actually possible!

Shortly after discovering T.A.G. practices, I went through a very difficult time.  When I couldn't pray myself, I found that using the prayer chants was the only way possible for me to actually communicate with God.  My favorite prayer chants have been created by Stephen Iverson and Jeff Johnson.  Stephen and I have become good friends, and you will find links to his music on this website as well.
